Has anyone noticed how quiet most streets are during non-commuting hours? Drivers are already driving at the bare minimum. The ONLY way this will change for the better is an honest presidential election where someone we voted for gets in and pray that person makes good on their promise to bring down the price of gas. No amount of protesting or boycotting will affect the cost of gasoline because the Oil Company has an ironfisted monopoly on it all, and they will keep raising the price from any amount of aggravation from the people. Right now we have no say, no voice, no power to influence, we're ants under a black horned titan. Expect gas in the U.S. to reach $10/gallon before it's all over.

A very good premise, but the American public just doesn't seem to be as upset about this as they should. I took a look at the gas price issue in a post on my own blog and I'm not sure if it is a case of people being conditioned to think that $3 a gallon is OK or if we just have enough disposable income in our middle classes that the extra expense hasn't made as hard an impact as it has on the lower classes. Time, and $4 gas will tell.
