I cannot believe it’s August!  Where is 2012 going? So much time, so little to do – wait, strike that, reverse it…

This year Gallery1988 will be holding its annual tribute to film in NYC, and I will be there in the show!

Very much looking forward to coming home for a couple weeks and having a chance for East Coast pallies to see my work in person.  The opening is next Thursday night, August 9th, from 6-10, in the Meatpacking District (ah, my childhood stomping grounds); the art will be up until September 1st.

If you can’t get to New York, here’s a sneak peak of my piece.  She still needs mounting and framing, but the stitching is done, and that’s the real work.  It’s another over-sized cross-stitch; I’ve pushed my stitches a bit larger this time (want to keep upping the size, interested to see when the image disintegrates), so unframed it’s 24″ square.  The piece is called “A Staunch Character,” and is my (very loving) tribute to Little Edie Bouvier Beale.

And, if you’re on the West Coast, the 21st Century Sex show is still up at the Bleicher Gallery until August 11th, with an erotic poetry reading on the night of the 9th, as well.

Happy August everybody!

What a super fun week!  My birthday, Barry Manilow at the Bowl, and now poolside in the desert with my girl, T.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m the luckiest girl in the world!

More artful events coming up next week, but I’ll bother you with them then.  Have a super relaxing, summer-filled weekend! Crash! Bang! Boom!

Caesar… Caesar… beware… beware the Ides of March!

God I love calling people and saying that!

It’s the final day of submissions for Home is Where the Needle Marks!  And oh, I have received some marvelous things! But I want to see your marvelous things (ooh, er)!  All info on submissions and guidelines HERE.

Be careful out there today, avoid forums and caesar salads, and above all else…

BEWARE!

Sorry, I just noticed that next Thursday, 3/15, is not only the Ides of March, but the end of submissions (already!!) for Home is Where the Needle Marks.  I’ve gotten some fabulous submissions and hope to see more!  All info for fees and guidelines can be found HERE.

Go to SCHINDERMANIA!

Happy Valentine’s Day my naughty lovelies!  I hope you’re all with the ones you love, or at least loving the ones you’re with.  Eat lots of chocolates, sniff lots of flowers, and tomorrow remember to love one another even more.

If you’re in LA this week, come by the Hive Gallery Saturday night!  Their monthly show is Valentine’s themed, and I have a piece in it, plus it’s usually a pretty good party!

I made a pillow for this month’s Hard Love themed show at The Hive.  She turned out kind of creepy, not sure how I feel about this piece… onward, onward.

I think she puts the VD in Valentine’s Day.

Go to Schindermania!

What a terrific start this year is off to! Woke early, went to the Farmers Market, then a hike with a girlfriend, and I made a curtain panel that I’ve needed for months.  Here’s to getting it done in 2012!!!

And to that end, here’s a list I’ve come up with, of goals for the new year:

  • less television
  • more patience
  • more reading
  • more glitter and sequins

in fact, more glamor all together

  • more kindness
  • more gratitude
  • more hugs
  • more unicorns

I wish all of this and more to you; here’s to an fabulous year!

Well my dears, another one bites the dust.  It was a trying year for many of us, though fab things happened too. I have a very good feeling about 2012, an auspicious year with abundance for all.  I’m so thankful for all of you and for all the lovely things that did happen this year.

Be safe tonight, don’t get too drunk (or high), and please get home safely.

See you next year!!!

I’m going, going, back, back, to Cali, Cali…

And not a moment too soon. I’ve had a lovely time, seen loved friends and family, eaten a lot of pizza and pierogi, viewed a bunch of art, but I’m ready to sleep in my bed, wake in my room, etc, etc…

See you on the sinister coast!

Nothing says Christmas like John Denver and the Muppets! Have a fabulous day, all!

Merry Christmas everyone!  And welcome back light!! Now unwrap!
