Well I knew it was gonna happen – ’cause I did the interview – but I didn’t know when it would come out, and I didn’t know it was out, but it is!

I’M IN HUSTLER MAGAZINE!!! Well, my art work is!  In the May issue, pages 16 and 17, right there, in the front of the mag!

You can bet I’m super excited to call my dad and tell him, “Dad, I’m in Hustler!” He’s going to be so proud!

That’s right, it’s finally upon us, the opening night of Stitch Fetish!!!  It looks great!!  Here’s a peak at the entrance to the show:

In prep for the show, last week I did an episode of my pal Todd’s videocast, Film Pigs! Which I can’t seem to embed and I have too much to do to argue with WordPress right now, so you can watch that HERE. I have to say, it made me laugh.

And, if I didn’t have enough going on, my super talented new space mate at the Hive, Sarah Ockuly, and I re-did our space, repainted, blah blah blah. I think it looks great! Much prefer this to the previous gray walls.

Okay, off to run errands and such and hope to see you all this evening!

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m in two shows that open Saturday night, the aforementioned Cthulhu show at The Hive, and a show called Interviews at Curio Studio and Collection over in Venice!  I’m very excited and honored to be included in this show.  Curated by Daniel Rolnik (LA’s most adorable art critic), it’s all works by artists he’s interviewed (here’s mine).  There’s some terrific work in the show and it should be a really fun evening.

Oh my goodness, I almost let the time get away from me, but here I am, last minute, telling you about shows tonight! I have a couple of pieces in a couple of shows, so if you’re in Hollywoods and want to see some art, or me, come out and say hi!

First up, at Gallery1988 on Melrose is, “There’s Always Money in the Banana Stand,” a tribute to Arrested Development:

And then, at Antebellum, on Las Palmas, “10 Inches or Less…”

And if you missed it, I did an internets radio interview the other day, if you’re looking for a giggle.

wow youse guys!! i’m doing a live interwebs radio interview today, from 1pm-2pm pst!  who knew!! you can listen live streamies, or later – and in perpetuity – archived. ooda lally, golly what a day!

Took it easy yesterday, but today it’s back to it!  Gearing up for the second half of Home is Where the Needle Marks, this Saturday, June 16th at Pop tART. Knitting my hands off for the installation of the yarn bombing at the gallery.

But in the meantime, the lovely Daniel Rolnik published this super flattering interview with me:

Thanks Daniel!

Big thanks to Daniel Rolnick and LA Weekly’s blog!! I’m kinda super excited by this post!

Not to blow my own horn, but the lovely folks over at Mr.XStitch have interviewed me for their podcast, Stitchin’ n Junk.  The first half is up now.  I sound like a bit of a dick, but not too bad, and they’re lovely, lovely (very funny) people.

img_0416I used to work for a fansite which is now defunct, and while there I taped an interview with Kate Flannery, Meredith on The Office.  It occurs to me now that the site is dark the interview is nowhere on the web, so, to that end… here it is in transcript form. She’s a pretty funny and cool lady, and super talented. If you’re not already a fan, go check out The Lampshades; you’ll thank yourself for doing so.

Schinders Hi, I’m Schinders and I’m here with Kate Flannery, Meredith, on The Office.  Knowing that we are FanLib, the first thing I want to ask you is, what are you a fan of?
Kate I am a fan of the fans.  I like the fans. I talk to the fans. We all have these MySpace pages that we started the second season of The Office, only because our computers didn’t work the first season. And it’s actually been kind of cool to talk to people that are – actually having access to the people that they are admiring.  I mean I wish I’d have access – I still don’t even though I’m on the Office (laughs) but it’s kind of interesting.  I actually was a really big fan of Annie when I was a kid, and it’s so funny I just saw that documentary which is called … Life After Tomorrow, which  sounds like a soap opera – and it’s all these girls that I admired when I was a kid and it’s their lives now which is kind of a strange mix of not what anybody expected… and … it’s just really really weird – it’s like a weird thing – so it’s kind of a full circle for me.  I don’t know why I  mentioned that first, but I was always obsessed with that show so I wish I would have had the access back then that the kids today have now. I’ve done another interview for FanLib, this time with Mike Dow, co-creator of Ten Things I Hate About Commandments.

The interview’s in four parts: One, Two, Three, and Four. It’s pretty interesting if I do say so myself. Dow’s a funny guy and if you wanna make a viral video he makes the steps seem do-able.
