I am so lucky to have the best girlfriends in the world!  And they’re gorgeous and they sparkle in their own unique ways, shiney shiney and darkly mysterious!  Here are the photos that greeted me on my facebook feed this morning:

Man do I love you girls!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day my naughty lovelies!  I hope you’re all with the ones you love, or at least loving the ones you’re with.  Eat lots of chocolates, sniff lots of flowers, and tomorrow remember to love one another even more.

Hope everyone is weathering the holiday whirl.  I got home late last night.  Brought Cali warmth with me (55 degrees when I landed), but the temps have fallen over night (45 now) and will continue to fall all week.  Hey, maybe I’ll get a white Christmas.

For those of you who are less than pleased at the prospect of family and home, I submit the Awkward Family Photos 12 days of Xmas.  I’m sure you know this site by now, but I’d like to remind you how funny they are!  Here’s my favorite Awkward Xmas moment thus far this year:

Merry Happy Everyone!

Been cranking out Christmas commissions over here (time for just one more if someone wants to contact me today and squeak under the wire).

Here’s a portrait pillow of a friend’s son, for her parents.  He was a sock monkey for Halloween.

I could eat him up, I love him so…

Well that was quite a week!! I went over to Ireland, to meet the illustrious Mr.X Stitch in Dublin for the big Knitting and Stitching show there; what a blast!  I loves me some Irish ladies!

I recently dealt with helping my (crazy) mother clean out some storage spaces… let’s just say, “oh my god, hoarder,” and move on, but in moving on, I’ve had to take a look at my own tendencies.  Nothing on the level of the show Hoarders, or even the level of my mom, but she did teach me to “buy one in every color if you like something,” which is sickness.

I’ve begun the clean out. I’m taking it easy, going slowly around the apartment, and will be donating to charity and selling stuff on ebay.  First up, a collection of vintage pantyhose.  I live in LA, where I rarely wear hosiery, and no one needs twenty pair of nude hose – hose mind you, that need garters, not stockings.  I mean, of course I have garters, but really, I kept a few pair – okay, a few few – but I’m getting rid of the rest.  The thing that I really find myself loving about them, is the old packaging.  Here are some of my favorites:

So much time, so little to do – wait, strike that, reverse it.

Had a product photo shoot yesterday; real, professional pictures. Boy oh boy am I excited. I’ll get them in the next day or so, and then I can revamp the store and the site, I can put together a line sheet and the lovely sales rep can go out and sell me… Everything’s coming up Milhouse!

The photographer shares the space with a friend who's a trainer... Who knew?

In other, equally important news, the artwork from Gay for Eagles is online, available for your viewing and purchasing pleasure.  Please go and buy art before I buy anything else from this show.

I took this photo last week, of a defunct fabric shop on Fairfax by Wilshire.  Wish it weren’t closed.  Not only do I have the fabric bug (if you didn’t know), but look at that lettering!  Oh promise of a bright, space-aged future!  Oh Camelot! Oh House of a Thousand Fabrics!

Tomorrow I will start posting about my trip to the UK (which was amazing), but I’m tired, so you get more photo search.  All images are from the Flickr commons.

I love doing random keyword searches in photo collections.  I love the slices of life and the oddities that don’t seem to fit, yet are super fab.  The Los Angeles Public Library has a great collection of photos online.  I did a search using the keyword “sewing.”  Here are my faves:
