Amongst all the other stuff, Artwalk tomorrow (come by the Hive!!), making for another 1988 show, and I’ve started a major project (more on that as it unfolds), I’m still making my ladies! Here’s Brenda, Adele, Audrey, and Suzy!
That’s right, it’s finally upon us, the opening night of Stitch Fetish!!! It looks great!! Here’s a peak at the entrance to the show:

In prep for the show, last week I did an episode of my pal Todd’s videocast, Film Pigs! Which I can’t seem to embed and I have too much to do to argue with WordPress right now, so you can watch that HERE. I have to say, it made me laugh.
And, if I didn’t have enough going on, my super talented new space mate at the Hive, Sarah Ockuly, and I re-did our space, repainted, blah blah blah. I think it looks great! Much prefer this to the previous gray walls.

Okay, off to run errands and such and hope to see you all this evening!
You all know I’ve been installing away (hope to see you tomorrow night, if you’re in the LA area), but did you know I’m still stitching away on other things? Well I am! Made some new doilies in the series, Annie and Maryanne; also made Betsy and Tacy, but they’re not rinsed and pressed yet. I’ll post those girls later.
Here’s a preview of my works for “Stitch Fetish“, though they may be a bit hard to see; it’s very hard to photograph white on white and get the camera to read it. I’ve made a trio of pieces, “Off White Work: Untitled Oral 1-3;” they’re 8×10 framed.
Hope to see you at the Show!
It’s the least fun part of being an artist, but if I don’t do it, who will? After much whining and procrastinating and mostly making stuff rather than stopping to do photo and computer stuff, I’ve finally gotten doilies in the store! I still have lots of other online, computery stuff to do, but let’s focus on the good and what’s done, shall we? There’s doilies in the store!
So now, if you’re in LA, you can come by the Hive, and see what’s on the wall, but if you’re not, you can go over to my Etsy shop and get some dirty doily in your life. Of the 99 planned, there’s 19 posted now; have at ‘em!!
Saturday night’s opening of Home is Where the Needle Marks was a fabulously good time. The art looked fabulous, the jazz band was cool, and the guests were hot! Many thanks to all who came out and made the night so memorable. For those who couldn’t make it down the gallery is open Tues-Sun 1-7 (ish), the show is up until July 16th, and I’ll be there much of that time to tell you about the arts! Come visit me!!
And now, the photos! Art…

And away we go…
I can’t believe it’s really here – how the hell did it get to be May? – but it is. At long last I am so very excited, proud, and happy to invite you all to the opening of my first featured art show! I have a whole wall to myself down at The Hive Gallery, starting this Saturday eve, May 5th. The Hive is big and very fun, with half a dozen shows up each month, giving different artists individual walls to fill. There is usually a group show in the center of the space and the night of the opening they have bands, performers, booze… all the right ingredients for a great time!
Been cranking out Christmas commissions over here (time for just one more if someone wants to contact me today and squeak under the wire).
Here’s a portrait pillow of a friend’s son, for her parents. He was a sock monkey for Halloween.

I could eat him up, I love him so…
I’ve got a new line I’m trying out, irreverently monogrammed hankies! There are two currently available in my Etsy store. Good cheap xmas gifts, yo!
Very happy! When I dropped off work yesterday at Pop tART, it was decided I’d make one more fast pillow, as a direct tribute to Bruce of Los Angeles. Here’s the source photo and what I made. Available through the gallery, 12″x12″ a limited run of 15:
