I cannot believe it’s August!  Where is 2012 going? So much time, so little to do – wait, strike that, reverse it…

This year Gallery1988 will be holding its annual tribute to film in NYC, and I will be there in the show!

Very much looking forward to coming home for a couple weeks and having a chance for East Coast pallies to see my work in person.  The opening is next Thursday night, August 9th, from 6-10, in the Meatpacking District (ah, my childhood stomping grounds); the art will be up until September 1st.

If you can’t get to New York, here’s a sneak peak of my piece.  She still needs mounting and framing, but the stitching is done, and that’s the real work.  It’s another over-sized cross-stitch; I’ve pushed my stitches a bit larger this time (want to keep upping the size, interested to see when the image disintegrates), so unframed it’s 24″ square.  The piece is called “A Staunch Character,” and is my (very loving) tribute to Little Edie Bouvier Beale.

And, if you’re on the West Coast, the 21st Century Sex show is still up at the Bleicher Gallery until August 11th, with an erotic poetry reading on the night of the 9th, as well.

Happy August everybody!
