Now that the writers’ strike seems to be ending, awards season is full steam ahead – and the hyperbole is at a high. I saw an ad for the Grammy Awards and the copy read, “And nothing will stop the most nominated performer; Amy Winehouse WILL perform live,” with a big vocal emphasis on that WILL. As though to challenger her to get hauled off to detox yet again, or us to suppose she will, before the really big shew. I assume she’ll be singing her hit number, which is far more ironic than the Alanis Morissette song.

And checking CNN, she’s been denied a Visa, so…
