First, I’d like to apologize to those who saw my earlier post which disappeared; technical stuffiness.

Second, here is a picture for the sake of FB preview, so no one will censor this post and get me banned.  Let’s imagine these women are discussing the sex they had last night and embroidering depictions of said sex.

Finally, for those of you who have stuck around this long… We liked it so much last year, we’re doing it again next, Stitch Fetish 2: Electric Boogaloo!! And I want to see your stitchy erotica!

Stitch Fetish 2, at The Hive Gallery, will continue to explore the art of the stitch (a rite and fetish unto itself), revealing the fetishized secrets lurking in the minds of the artists.  Works of erotica and titillation! Works of dark fantasy and longing.  Works of secrets never told, but long desired.

Artists may submit works dealing with erotica and fetish. Feel free to interpret this theme widely. All types of stitched work are welcome for submission: knitting, crochet, embroidery, needlepoint, cross-stitch, quilting, plushes, appliqué, tapestry, needlefelting (i know it’s not stitched, but there’s needles and often blood, so it fully counts!)… if it’s stitched (or woven or threaded or poked), please submit.  Please note we are looking for contemporary interpretations of theme and medium.

Submission Details:
All artists over 18 are eligible.
Work can utilize any medium but must primarily use stitching (or thread).
Works should be no larger than 24”x24” framed.
Works must be wall mountable and ready to hang.
Work must be original and created after 2010.

For more details on how to submit and important dates please go HERE.

We had such a wonderful show this past February, and some of my favorite pieces – from people who will be showing again next February – came from blind submissions, so please, do submit!
