Stitchy Stitchy

I’m stitching away at one of my pieces for Stitch Fetish 4 this weekend. I have too many ideas this year, I think I’m making a bunch of pieces and then I’ll see what I accept from my own submissions. I hope you’re creating yours, or at least thinking about what to make. Only three and a half weeks to submit by Dec 15th. Can’t wait to see what you’re working on.

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies…

Along with everything else that goes on, I’ve been making more ladies in my “I’ve Got 99 Doilies, but a Bitch Ain’t One,” series. These new girls are in my store and can be seen next Thursday (and beyond!) at Dove Biscuit Studios at the Last Bookstore. Come by for Downtown LA Art Walk, it’s super fun and crazy!

Double Posting (which is a bit like double fisting, but with no booze, and so not really like that at all)

While I’m still busy wrapping up Stitch Fetish 2, I do have other stuffs on the horizon, and all of a sudden it’s time for The Season of Spring at Flower Pepper Gallery, this Friday 3/1. Curated by Daniel Rolnik (the world’s most adorable critic), this is one hell of a show. The line up of artists is so stellar, not only am I excited to see friends and meet some people whose work I like, but I am honored to be in the same show with quite a few of these people.

We were asked to stitch on 8″x10″ archival paper, which was fun. I’ve done paper work before, but not in a while, and i don’t think anything quite like this.
