I’ve been working on adding stuff to my store. There’s a bunch of new ladies I’ve made recently, some embroideries, and don’t forget, for all of July, 40% off all pillows! Just enter the code EQUALITY at checkout! Go check it out!

I deleted my Etsy account a few months ago… for a bunch of reasons. And as soon as I did, realized I probably should have left it up until I built a new store. But, the button had been pushed.
That’s what happens when you have fits of pique.

Meanwhile, I’ve received some very nice messages, via FB, my website, tumblr, asking prices of works and such, and really, I just needed to get off my ass and deal with it. So… it’s not completely done, I’ve more work to upload (or make the intern upload – I have an intern this summer!!!), but I built a new store! Yea me! It’s a Big Cartel store, and for the moment it’s fairly simple; maybe once I get more available art posted, I’ll play more with design.

So go check it out! I’ll be offering deals on stuff throughout the summer!
Here’s one now: Until the end of July, get 40% off all pillows (I know that’s all that’s there now, but not for long!), when you enter the code, EQUALITY!!!

Hello lovelies! I’ve been a bit AWOL. Had a job that had me travelin’, but that’s done, and these dusty boots are comin’ home to rest (thank all the gods). And you know what home means, art shows!! Two openings this Saturday, hope to see you at one of them.

Screen Shot 2015-05-20 at 9.52.03 AM First up is the opening of “We’re Here, We’re Queer,” at the brand new LGBT Center on 4th, in Santa Ana (from 4pm-10pm), where Miss Laverne will be on display through July 30th.

Hey all! I’m curating a second show this year, Put the Needle on the Record, at Twilight Gallery, Seattle! Very excited for this one, all music stuffs! Here’s some basic info:

Put the Needle on the Record at Twilight Gallery, Seattle, will explore the constant connection between visual art and music. They feed back and forth. Images inspire the music and the music surely inspires visuals. Cover art has been a part of the music experience since the first pieces of sheet music were published. Photos and portraits of musicians catch our imagination and allow us to feel what it might have been like to be there, at that show…

Artists, please submit musically themed works – needlepointed album covers, amiguri rockers, embroidered portraits, lyric explored (please push yourself creatively if doing this). All types of stitched work are welcome for submission: knitting, crochet, embroidery (machine, free hand, black work, crewel….), needlepoint, cross-stitch, quilting, plush, appliqué, tapestry, needle felting (i know it’s not stitched, but there’s needles and often blood, so it fully counts!), beading, mixed media (where fiber is a main component)… and any other stitchy forms i’ve forgotten (or woven or threaded or poked), please submit.

Please note we are looking for contemporary interpretations of theme and medium.

Please go HERE for more details.

So much good going on, and so crazy busy, and along with that comes change – which is terrifying and unknown and means more work – but it’s amazing and fantastic! So, I’ve closed my Etsy shop. I will be opening a Big Cartel Shop in the next month or so. Perhaps I should have left the Etsy up while I build the new one (I think now, typing), but, I didn’t, so… I think it will be a better fit in the end.

But have no fear, don’t wring your hands,

works will be available again in a “store” setting soon. And if you see something you like in the meantime (on Instagrams, Turmblr, Ficebook, or Tweeter), just let me know and we can work it out.

So much thanks to everyone who made Saturday night’s opening of Stitch Fetish 3 such a resounding success: the artists who attended, and those who couldn’t but made amazing work, all the wonderful people who came out in support of stitchery (and naughtiness), and of course Nathan Cartwright and all the folk at the Hive Gallery and Studios.

It was a blast of a night, but if you weren’t there, it’s okay, the show’s up until 2/28, and the gallery is open late this coming Thursday (2/12) for art walk. I’ll be there all night, happy to chat about the work and the artists. And if you can’t get to that either, or you’re nowhere near LA, all the work is online to be perused and purchased (just scroll down the page a bit).

Here’s some snaps from Saturday, thanks again to everyone who made it such a magical (and dirty) eve!

Got most of the hanging done today, tomorrow final bits, and sorting, labels… Saturday’s going to come and go before I even realize it, so I’m trying to slow down enough to enjoy this. I have to say, with only a few minor glitches, it’s been pretty wonderful. Here’s today’s peek:

And here’s a link to a nice blurb in LAWeekly (scroll down, we’re the 3rd show mentioned – many thanks to Shana Nys Dambrot for the shout out!): http://www.laweekly.com/arts/the-best-la-art-parties-this-week-5367813

So much stuff, but what good stuff! Tomorrow, the hanging!
